I have a bp7001sc for my fronts and want to get matching surrounds. I was leaning toward the BPVX but have found a decent deal on the 7001s and wondering how they would work. For the BPVX, I was planning on hooking up a sub to them to get more low end coming out the back, but obviously the towers would take care of that for me.

Anyone use the 7000/1 for surrounds, and if so how did you place them, firing what direction and how far from the listening position?

Thanks for the help.

How large is your space, dimensions? For HT the BPVXs should be plenty, but if you listen to a bit of Multi-channel music the 7001s may be preferred. Do you have a separate sub(s)? If you don't, then that should be a priority even with the 7001s.

It's definitely doable, but it would also be overkill. Acudeftechguy uses BP7001s for surrounds, but you would be ok with the BPVX for surrounds. I use BP10s for surround backs, and BP2X for surrounds and it sound great.

Nice

Awesome fronts! I have 7002s. What do you have for a center? I have the C/L/R 3000 and it has excellent timbre and beautiful with the 7002s ,especially for DVDs and TV

I have four in ceiling speakers for my surrounds; the UIW BPZ/A and they enhance the sound very well. Alas, I don't have any room for other speakers.

Some "pure audiophiles" and you are getting very close when you get 7001SCs ;), insist on having the surrounds the same as the fronts. I;)f you have the room and the $$$, four- SC7001SCs and a C/L/R 3000 with a nice SVS ultra of JL Fathom sub would be Nirvana

Good Luck!

I have the CLR3000 for the mid, and for the sub.... I just sold the Hsu 3.2 w/ turbo to get something.... well not so tall and ugly (sorry). I am left with a 2.2 that I was going to use on the rears but have it as the LFE right not.

Thanks for the input and let me know any more thoughts you might have.

I have the BP7001s and I love them, but I think using them as surrounds would be overkill (no offense to you AcuDeftech) I find that on my 7001s that the subs get very boomy when set to large and sound very tight and controlled when set to small and crossed over at 40Hz which means it might be a cheaper option to buy a pair of BP10's and use the spare money on one or two very good subs that will handle the low end way better than the 7001s ever could.
