Hey all, I am looking at the B&W CM series speakers and was wondering if the step up from the CM5 2-way to the CM7 3-way with dedicated mid and bass drivers would really make that much of an impact on the sq for the extra $.

Any opinions?

How big is your room?

You'll gain headroom, but not neccessarly sound quality. The 3-way will spread the load across more drivers, and allow you to play louder without stressing them.

If you have a big room and/or like to play it loud, then the three-way design may be worth demoing. If your in a small room and prefer movies at a moderate level, it may not be worth the upgrade.

My room is 13'x16' with 8' ceilings. The speakers will be used for both music and movies. I use the speakers in that room loud when I am listening to music in other areas of the house. For movies I also like them kinda loud.
