I would like to ask you audioholics whether they this combination is suggested:

Jamo A102 speakers with Pioneer VSX-88V-K

IS that combination better than a Sony DDWG-800 pack This amplifier (Sony) seems to lack many features but I'd appreciate your professional views as regards to power and clarity.

Thank You Guys

Seriously, I have no life.
If space for speakers is limited, they're OK but little speakers don't sound as real as something larger. I'm not saying that big is best but little never sounds real, regardless of what Bose and a few other companies tell people. I like a lot of the Jamo speakers but I would try to go higher up in their product line. To be honest, I doubt the Sony speakers will be anything special.

First welcome to Audioholics ;)

A couple of questions:

What is your budget ?

What equipment do you already have?

What type of system ? music, HT, both ?

How big is your room?

Thanks,

Forest Man

Hello njedpx3,

thanks for your welcome. I'm pleased to be part of this forum.

Actually, unfortunately, there are few agents and distributors in Malta. Oe can find almost all types of brands but the agents are simple interested in selling no matter what. The service is very unprofessional in most of the shops that sell three or even more different brands.

Both Sony and Jamo/Pioneer are priced circa the same and available from stock.

I have no equipment at the moment and the room is 3.5m x 3.5m.

Your suggestion, Forest Man, is highly appreciated.

In general, I'm not a fan of Sony receivers at all. You can get more features and a better built amp at the same price elsewhere. I'm a big fan of Pioneer and Yamaha both, usually hard to go wrong with either of them.
