Decent sturdy stands

I have some nice new Paradigm SE1's and looking for some stands, any recommendations in budget line?
Whats a good way to mount them to the stand? Velcro?

Stands are personal taste but I like ones that have a large area for the speaker. I've actually used cheap Walmart bar stools in the past. I'm not sure about velcro because the sticky back might mar the finish. I use clear Museum Putty. It's a sticky goo that holds tight yet comes off cleanly. You can get it from Home Depot or Amazon for $5-10.

I personally like steel stands as they tend to be more sturdy than cheap wooden ones (expensive wooden stands can be fine for sturdiness).

As for mounting them, you can use a thin rubber mat or use one of the sticky things that many people use (see sholling's post above). I believe the stands to which I have provided a link already have rubber in the corners of the top which will probably be adequate.

Scott, go to www.tnt-audio.com and look in their DIY section for homemade speaker stands, I made them but substituted the 3" 40 PVC pipe with 4" and spend the little extra and get as they say the solid oak, I painted the PVC and stained the oak, they are very sturdy after filling with sand, cost about $40 and a couple hours of your time.
