It's got prison warden Joan Allen looking like a total badass, former NASCAR driver Jason Statham looking ripped, and of course a ton of cars armed to the teeth with deadly gadgetry. It's directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, who also directed one and wrote screenplays for all three of the Resident Evil movies, so you know it'll be the perfect blend of apocalyptic and pretty. See the fireworks now!

Is this a remake of Death Race 2000?

I like Jason Statham, but I thought all 3 Resident Evil movies sucked so that doesn't influence me to see it.

Wow, that movie really looks bad. It just seems like Hollywood has really run out of ideas for good movies and will try to make something that would probably be gold if it were a low budget b movie and over polish until they've rubbed whatever was good about it off.

BTW, I actually like Death Race 2000, even got it on dvd. Though I gotta admit it was horribly bad. I think thats what its charm is.

Totally is. I saw it in theaters and actually picked up the DVD... it's a fun mindless movie.

I had my wife pick it up yesterday on BR. Going to watch it tonight.

Picked this movie up last night on BR. It was a blind buy, but I was a HUGE fan of the old Twisted Metal video games, and seeing the trailer for this brought me back. If anything, it's a good action movie. I've found Stathams' work to be pretty awful lately (Crank) but he fit the role here.

Sound was awesome, FX were awesome.
