Paradigm Deal or no Deal?
This is my first post and I must say thank you to this website and all those in the forums that have guided me in my selection process over the last 3 months to proceed with the replacement of my 1978 stereo system. The new system is headlined by a Yamaha 2500, 2 Paradigm Studio 40v3 speakers, a HSU STF 2 sub, and migrated my older Pioneer (10” woofer, 3 way) as surrounds, for 70music/30movie , in a 18’ x 20’ x 7’ listening area. The Paradigm speakers have not disappointed me as the music speaker I was looking for. It is time to add the additional speakers and definitely the center channel but costs are a factor. Understanding timbre match as important and viewing the progression for the Paradigm Reference Studio line, I am in the position to add the CC450 and 2 LCR-450’s for use as my surrounds at a price I am willing to pay. The LCR-450 use the Studio’s speaker material composition but I'm not sure about driver match. My problem - will the CC450 perform up to standards and should I be thinking of LCR-450 at all since they're so many versions before my newer Paradigm? Studio 20’s for the surrounds instead? Save for the future(years) and get Paradigm floorstanders? Remember Music first but I do not want to miss out on the complete movie experience.
