Hi there I'm new on this forum. I recently purchased a Velodyne digital drive 10. Right out of the box followed the instructions setting it up, but before hooking up any of the video output and stuff needed to calibrate it, I got too anxious and played it without calibration and adjusted the volume using the two little buttons on the back.

When I decided it was time to actually calibrate it, I plugged in everything like the manual said, and for some reason, the unit kept switching on and off like it wasn't keeping its power. The setup screen kept flashing on and off on the TV and the blue velodyne logo did the same on the front. I tried fixing this by using different outlets and moving the sub all around the room. Finally, I made sure that I turned the volume on the sub all the way down using the buttons on the back and it suddenly worked. It worked fine for about 6 days.

Today, I got a new CD and wanted to adjust the EQ so I switched over to the setup screen and there was nothing there. The logo on the front of the sub was still illuminated. I tried turning the unit on and off, and several times the setup screen appeared but vanished shortly thereafter. Now the status of it is, I can't get the menu to come up, and when i press buttons on the remote, nothing happens. On the front of the sub the logo and the nighttime red light are both glowing, but I can't get the sub to do anything and I don't think it's outputting any sound either.

Given how expensive this sub was, this is concerning me a bit. Velodyne's technical support is closed now for the weekend, so I was wondering if any of you could let me know if you have any ideas as to what's going on here. I appreciate the help in advance.

Kyle

Update: for some reason the thing started working again (kinda). Now what it does is flash on and off like I described before. It seems the manual says this is what it does in circuit protection mode, but I have no idea what could be causing this.

If you purchased from an authorized dealer, take it back for an exchange.

I would say, that sub is infested with bugs. :) Or it is mad at you. :p
