good morning.

is there a tutorial, somewhere, for setting up a DCX2496 ? used for sub/s only.
i have been searching for a while now,and have yet to find anything.
i now have one. hooked it up, and "tried" to get it to do something = no luck :(
i didn't put much time into it, but will later today.

no. but perhaps i will soon. idk

no, not yet. i need to get my "foot in the door". right now, my foot is caught "in" the door. i don't even know if i have the connections correct. input A, output 1 & 2.

basicly. all i need right now :
20hz high pass.
up some gains.
a little EQing.

The software will get your foot in the door, trust me;)

Also where are getting the eq readings from?

ok, just watched HULK. the battle at the end =
with wife, about -5 is all i could do. i replayed some after, about +2ish
BAMM :eek::eek:, it sounded so much fuller ! BUT, because of the limits of the kappas, as good as they are @ reference. screw that, it was not good enough. i am addicted, and i have cash. i am going towards the Warpdrv line of thinking. perhaps 2 AV15x/h in 10ish^3.

oh. the 2496 really helped. and while i know very little of this unit. i can see what it can do = amazing.

You'll really have to properly setup the system to take full advantage of it, by that i mean using REW and doing measurements, tweaking, so on. Your not going to get it as good as it gets the first time around.

And yes, the kappa's do have their limits. Ideally I would want a sub that can play anything at any volume no problem, But realistically when you compare to what many subs can do... ;)

no doubt. i doubt i will ever get it as good as it gets.

since i have very little experience with subs. i have to go with what i do know.
my subs give real life bass. but movies are bigger than real life. so i want bigger than life bass. in no way shape or form am i saying the kappas are bad. i am just saying i want more. i have deside i can have bigger cabinets. when/if i ever go projection, i can just raise the screen up above the cabinets. lol, i'm jackin my own thread, sheesh.
