DBS Satelite and Cable forums

It seems to me there is a hole in Audioholics coverage of home theater audio/visual equipment and services which could be filled by DBS Satelite and Cable forums. These are the high definition sources, aside from high definition DVDs, and they deserve their own forums. I stumbled upon www.DBSTalk.Com and it is a good example of an Audioholics type forum which could be used as basis for organization. If Audioholics does not want to expand into the DBS Satelite and Cable forums, then maybe it would be a good service to Audioholics readers to list the topic heading and reference (or link) readers to the DBSTalk website. This is a very active and substantial website which fills a hole in Audioholics coverage of all things home theater audio and visual. I personally would like to see what Audioholics members have to say on these subjects. I think these forums would be well received and active.

Thanks for the site information. It is very thorough on remotes, which I need to look into.

I received an interesting upgrade offer from Dish Network on HD channels and upgraded HD DVRs. I was trying to find out the problem history on the Dish ViP622/ViP722 HD receiver/recorders and www.DBSTalk.com had a thread devoted to this topic. This gave me enough information on past and current problems to decide to wait longer until the bugs are all worked out. If there are other sites with similar discussions I will be glad to look them over, but my main point is that I would rather have found this information from Audioholics forums, and I think it is a hole in the Audioholics forum coverage. Three of the four HD sources are missing from the forums. These are DBS satellite systems, cable systems and over-the-air antennas. All the focus is on high definition DVD players.

It is very thorough on remotes...

There are many professionals and installers that hang out there. Their forums are about a lot more than just remotes:

I wasn't able to find out anything on the ViP622/ViP722, but there is a plethora of daily stuff there. Cheers.
