Dayton SUB-80 failure

I have a Dayton SUB-80 that was purchased back in Oct. 2008. It has been working fine since then and perfect for my needs. However, just a few nights ago it started rumbling with no input being fed to it. With just the power plugged in and no other inputs connected to the sub, it still rumbles (like sub white noise, almost like a continuous soft thunder sound).

Given that it's $95 new, should I just replace it with a new one or is there any hope that I can self repair this sub cheaply? I haven't unscrewed the connections/amp unit from the sub yet but am not unsure what I would be trying to diagnose even if I did.

Thanks for any advice you can provide.

i have fixed many electronics by doing nothing more than simply unplugging and replugging any connection i could find. i doubt thats it, but who knows. and its free.
