Dave Matthews Band - Stand Up Review (DualDisc)

The Dave Matthews Band (DMB) is just such a band. Like just about everyone I know, I’ve heard a few tracks (usually off the radio), have experienced various levels of attraction and repulsion to the music, and own (or have heard) an album or two which I am hot and cold on (love some tracks, hate others). Still, if I’m in a room full of people I don’t know well, I feel reasonably confident that popping in a DMB album will not send people running for the exits. With that said, I simply had to pop in the new Stand Up DualDisc and give it a spin...

why does it get three stars for surround (above average) when the review states that there is no surround mix at all?

I'm not a DMB fan at all, but one of the very best sounding recordings I have ever heard is DMB and the Blue Man Group on a DTS demo disc I somehow got my hands on. It was so well done that everytime I demo my system this is the recording that I use. Not many that I know would ever confess to owning a DMB album, but since it's your birthday I'll let it go this time Tom.

Takeereasy,
I have to agree with ya about that demo song with Dave and Blue Man Group, it really is great...However, I have to 100% disagree about not liking dave in general....come on he is a GREAT performer, and I know many a people that would admit to being dave fans. If you ever have the chance watch his central park concert dvd, it is amazing!!!!

I'm just teasing Tom, it's what we do to each other. While I'm not a big DMB fan I will tip my hat to their live performance ability. If you like their music and pay to see them in a show you really will get your dollar's worth. I respect any band that can bring it live, even if I don't care for the music. And for what it's worth, I do know one guy with a DMB album, and he's a pretty decent guy.
