Just ordered one of this while waiting for the HA-1

Fiio X5 Thread - info updated on Jan 17th 2014

Thanks to the AH review on the CA Dacmagic XS, bought one for $190 and has been impressed with it and using it almost daily as its some convenient. I am beginning to forget that I do have a half decent vinyl spinner and album collection, thinking about it now I should be doing some dusting/vacuuming. Hopefully before too long I will be able to find out if the HA-1 could really sound better in my rooms. I highly doubt that but still hope to be nicely surprised.:D

Thoughts?

That is an impressive bit of packaging if it sounds like the spec's say it should. DSD support in a DAP? ability to slave as a DAC off the USB port. Incredible.

One confusing thing they do is call their MicroSD slots 'TF Card'. No one calls them TF cards now days.

TF (TransFlash) and MicroSD are the same thing according to wiki
I used to have in early 2000's a Nokia 6xxx phone which specifically asked for TF cards :) maybe in China they more commonly called TF instead of MicroSD

So far my usb dac sounds as good as the Oppo 105, two different setups by necessity, just same source and volume matched to the best I can. I can't prove it but at this point no doubt in my mind no normal human can tell the difference between the two 100% of the time. Will spend more time on it today.
