Dampining factor is a representation of the amps output impedance. Amps with higher factors generaly have lower output impedance, and a better ability to drive speakers. It is actually much more complicated than this. It boils down to if you have an amp with a high dampining factor (>10) and low THD (<.1%), it's prob a pretty good amp.
