need some audiophile opinions on which setup you would recommend I'm in the process of upgrading my speaker setup as I have a set of dream accoustics v6s and a yamaha vx463 5.1. Mainly for bluray and music. I just upgraded to my screen a panasonic 50" v10A. Thinking I upgrade the amp last which is likely to be a denon 1911. So This leads to my speaker upgrade. In reading reviews people tend to discuss the Dali ikon 7s or kef iq90 but tend to not mention the concept 6s in the same regaurd. My question is obviously these first two speakers are significantly more price wise than the Ikons or kef. But are they at least twice as good? My mate works for an australian retail store who have sole distribution for dali called jbhifi and he can get me a pair of concept 6s pair of concept 2s and a centre for 1150. (1000 USD) That's about 300 (270USD) dollars cheaper than just the ikons or iq would set me back just for the front standing speakers. What do you audiophiles suggest. Performance vs price. Many thanks. If anyone in the US has dealt with Dream Accoustics, can anyone here recommend their high end speakers (with real wood finish) or compare those speakers to the Concept 6's ?
Im likely to listen to music probably 60/40 (movies) Im keen for your interpretations. I can aquire a 5.0 set of wood high end dream accoustics for about $900 USD , and the guys tells me, the drivers in these are infact more expensive than the wharfdales which are made in the factory next door in china, he also explained the wood cabinets are far superior to the MDF or Wood Veneer finishes on the Dali/Whardfales etc. Can anyone confirm this , I am yet to auditon the high end D.Accoustics so will reserve my judgement but I'm keen to hear other peoples experiences.
