I just came back from a visit to my closest audiophile shop.
I had a clear winner: Dali concept 6. It blew out of the water everything else I tried. I can get them for 550 eur.
However, I have seen on ebay the dali suite 2.8 (second hand) for the same price.
Note: the dali suite 2.8 are not available in the US site, but they are in the german site:

The main difference I can see is that the suite are handmade, with nice curved surfaces, in denmark. The concept are made in china (like most entry level stuff). The veneer in the concept is plastic, although very well done. The box for the 'suite' is a piece of art as you can see in the pictures.
The main disadvantage of the 'suite 2.8' is that as second-hand boxes (ebay) I'd have no warranty.
Which one do you suggest?
Note: on the cheap I can get the JAMO E770 for 270 eur (!). I had a pair of Jamo classic 6 and loved them.
