How could you possibly post your experiences about a DAC? There are so many other contributing factors such as layout, power supply, integration, components used, etc in the product they go into that determines the overall fidelity of the system.

Now that being said, I would have to give the nudge to Texas Instruments b/c of their design flexiblity and theoretical performance advantages over many of their competitors. But that doesn't mean an engineer can't integrate a Crystal DAC into a processor/DVD player and achieve stellar results.

Experiences meaning with amps with Burr-Brown DAC's vs Other. Like the differance between a Denon AVR-2807 (analog devices) vs the AVR-3806 (burr brown). Also meaning market research on the supposed "advantages of each". Apparently Texus Instruments hold around 47% of the DAC market share.

Actually the 2807 doesn't have Burr-Brown DAC's; have to step up to the 3806 to get the Burr-Browns.

How much of a factor should it be? Like the Yamaha 750 DVD player and then the C950 does almost the same but it has Burr-Brown Dacs . Does it matter?

Depends on other things as well, also depends on what the comparasion is. What DAC's does the other one have?

All in all

"DAC's have a small factor in whole system Fidelity" as stated by GENE.

Sorry my mistake i meant 2807 vs. 3806

I honestly dont think i would chose a product based on DAC's. I would go based on my own ears. Just curious about people's opinions.

Absurd thread.

This non-sense concerning DAC audibility of different chip manufacturers belongs at Audioasylum.com, not Audioholics.com.

Or, did the original poster mean for people to post their engineering experiences, integrating the chips from the different DAC manufacturers listed? If this was the intention, I apologize. In that case, I would suggest that you post at a more suitable site for electronics design, as I doubt you will elicit a substantial response from this forum, concerning that topic.
