Just Purchased A Set Of These For Stereo Use Only.
Looking For Something To Power Them Appropriately, And Learning A Lot About This Stuff With The More I Read....
So My Questions Is, Which Route To Take To Get The Best Results
Out Of These Monsters For My Application.
( Music Only, Mid To Loud For Long Periods Of Time )
Not Sure How Much Power Or Quality I Need, Or What Balance Of Both
Would Be Properly Suited To Jam These Things:(
OR WHICH SET-UP WILL GIVE ME THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK

Receiver - Looking @ The Harman Kardon 3485
Integrated Amp - Any Recommendations?
Or A Pre-pro / 2-channel Amp Set-up

Any Guidance Would Be Greatly Appreciated
Thnx In Advance -ty

I think the Harman Kardon will do fine without an amp.

or if you decide you need an amp, the harman kardon has pre-outs.

it has a built in tuner as well, and composite video switching too.

I think your receiver should do fine. But if at high volumes you think your hearing distortion you could always add an external amp.

Add An External?
You Mean Via The Pre/ Amp Outputs On The Back Of The Recvr?
If So Will That Actually Add The Power Of The Amp On Top Of The
Power Of The Receiver...or Just Deliver The Power From The External..

Just the external amp's power.
SO WOULDN'T SPENDING THE MONEY ON A FULL RECIEVER BE BETTER SPENT
ON SEPERATE COMPONANTS ( POWERFULL INTERGRATE OR PRE/PRO)RIGHT OFF OF THE BAT?

If all you want to do is play the CDs, then perhaps an inexpensive pre-amp and a Behringer A500 Amp would work for you.

That Seems Fairly Affordable @ Around 200 Bucks..:d

Pretty Reputable Amp?
Any Recomendations On A Pre-amp?

The H/K is less expensive than most quality preamps and offers some features preamps costing more will not have. I would suggest just getting the receiver and if you feel it doesn't have enough power you can connect a more powerful amplifier like the Behringer A500, which will drive the Cerwin Vegas to insane levels out output for extended periods of time.

You are better off just getting the receiver for now, IMO.

2 0F THESE?
YOU MEAN BRIDGE THEM...ONE PER SPEAKER?
THAT WOULD BE BU-KOO POWER NO?
IMO you don't need two of those, one Behringer A500 would be plenty of power for the very efficient Cerwin Vega speakers.

And as I already mentioned, the H/K presents a better value and function for your intents and purposes definitely. It is essentially a preamp with a tuner and amplifier built in.

The Harmon Kardon you have chosen will play these loud and clear enough for extended listening times in which you'll grow stone deaf. Seriously, forget the seperates. You won't need seperate amps UNLESS you are playing them in some kind of huge hall type room.

SO ESSENTIALL ANY RECIEVER SUITED WITH THE FEATURES THAT I PREFFER
WOULD FUCTION PERFECTLY AS A PRE-AMP....REGARDLESS OF ITS POWER
OUT-PUT? I.E... A LESSER MODEL HK OR OTHER OLDER MODEL OF MY PREFFERANCE

Yes, but you must be certain that it has a preout(not just subwoofer either, two channel preout)

Also, the less expensive ones my have less inputs, but for your purpose you will still have plenty of excess inputs.:)

I assume the receiver has A/B speaker terminals, you can use those for a second room. Most stereo receivers have A/B terminals.
