I have a question concerning my home theater setup .....

My gear ..

Pioneer Elite VSX-53TX Reciever
Pioneer DV-F727 DVD Changer
Mits. Vs-6083 Rear projection TV

2 Klipsch KG .5 Bookshelf (Rear Surround)
2 Athena As-RIS-1 (Side Surround)
2 Sony 3 1/2" centers (Replacing Original Mitsu Speakers in cabinet)
2 Custom fronts in Cabinets
12" Woofer
6 1/2" Mid
3 1/2" Tweeter
w/ crossovers

Now on to my question. For the sub I am currently using 2 15" Loudspeakers mounted in the walls.
The Center speakers are in the TV, although they are hardwired directly to the receiver, so the TV is just used as a monitor. But, I take the sub out from the receiver and send it to the audio IN L & R of the TV, using a 1 into 2 adapter. Then I use the EXTERNAL SPEAKER setting in the TV audio setup, and the 15"'rs are connected to the EXT OUT of the tv. There is a surround setting in the audio setup, and a sub in on the back of the tv but I am not using that. The Sub volume is then basically controlled by the TV Volume. I have the treble backed all the way off, and the Bass all the way up.
Now I know it's not the best way to go about this, but the sound in general isn't that bad. There are just a few things I would like to see if I can clean up.
#1 - When the tv volume is up driving the 15's, I get a good rumble, but it's not quite as subby as I would like. It's hard to describe but I like the more muffled sub sound.
#2 - When the tv volume is up driving the 15's and there is little or no LFE signal there is a lot of white noise. This is irritating. No one else hears it but I DO !! Noise starts when tv volume is slightly above half way.
#3 - Front speakers are in Ent. Center that surround the tv. Located at the bottom on each side. Would having the front out away from the tv farther to the left and right create a better surround sound ? I could only move them maybe a foot and half max. away form the tv.
#4 - My room is approx 15 x 24, with the couch at about 11 ft from the tv front, the tv being on the 15 ft wall. Where should the side surround speakers be ?? directly across from the seating, or behind the seating on the side ?? The room is a split level so the couch can't go any farther back, leaving approx 13 ft behind it.

OK I think thats enough. Any insight would really br appreciated. I really looking forward to tuning this system in. Thanx a lot !!!
