Im building a set of speakers using the Dayton 8" reference woofer (RS225S-8) and the Dayton reference aluminum tweeter (RS28AS-4). The problem is the woofer is 8 ohms and the tweeter is 4 ohms. What are some good resources to help me design a crossover for this configuration?

Thanks.

Can I simply add a non-inductive audio-grade resistor in series with the tweeter? How much would that attenuate the tweeter? How would it affect its response curve? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

PE has forums for DIY

Check the PE forums, they may be able to help you. The Loudspeaker Design Cookbook may be able to help you too.

I happen to have the loudspeaker cookbook. It is very technical and VERY detailed, which is good in some cases but when I am looking for something specific its a little hard to extract it from the text... Fantastic book tho... I also posted on PE tech talk and Im waiting for a response. I may go ahead and order the drivers because im pretty sure I will use them, and do some research and look at some impedance curves for the tweeter and see if I cant figure something out.
