So im trying to cross my center and surrounds over into my mains, if i set the mains to large, set it to no sub, and then set the center to small and surrounds to small, and enable PLII, it doesent even have the bass response it would have if i left the center on large (it is bass capable down to 40hz) in two channel mode, it does have much more significant bass obviously. I can hear some of the bass going into the mains from the center but its way way weaker, if i run a 40hz tone the bass seems to cross over into the mains just fine, when listening to straight music, it doesent. XO point is 80hz. Any suggestions?

EDIT: i havent tested it with discrete 5.1 material so i'm not sure if it is just a PLII issue or not.

Look in 'Speaker Setup' for 'Bass Setting', or something like that. That's where you can set the Low Pass Filter (LPF) for LFE. It's also where you can set it for LFE or LFE + Main. You want it set for LFE + Main.

already did something like that. i followed the manuals instructions for crossing over into the mains, the lfe comes through the mains fine, its just music in PLII seems to behave weirdly. its just not correctly crossing the center over into the mains for some reason, the only way to solve this problem is to get a sub but i'd rather not because my receivers lowest xo point is 80hz, i got large towers because they didnt need a sub and in two channel mode they dont, but getting them to crossover and act as "virtual subs" isnt working and i dont understand why. all i can say is im glad i got a bass capable center or i would be out of luck right now. i have a few theories as to why this is happening, i think the xo processing takes place in two channel before it hits the PLII processor, reason for this idea is when i was using a sub if i crossed over just the mains and left the surrounds and center on large they still got xo'ed im going to do a few tests to confirm this, if this is the case i will either have to forgo using PLII and listen to music in stereo or just leave everything set on large.

ok so this isnt the case, so im left confused and dumbfounded as to why it isn't crossing over into the mains correctly. GAH when using a sub it xo's fine, when not using one it cuts the lows out of all channels still testing to see if it happens with discrete material
