First time poster, so lets see how this goes. I'm looking for some help finding the the proper crossover on my denon receiver. I have a 7.1 system with 3-way pioneer tower speakers, sony center and surround, and the current sub I'm using is a Sony. So the question is what crossover on my receiver should I
be using?

Welcome,

Without knowing the model of your speakers, it's tough to say. A good starting point is 10 or 20 hertz above the speakers lowest response (for example, if your speakers are rated down to 60 hertz, cross at 80). From here, you can adjust to what sounds good to you.

The floors are f5000 and the sub is w3000. And just checked the receiver and it was set to 120hz, tomorrow ill make the adjustments. Thanks for the help!!

So the FR response of your towers is rated to 45hz. With a little in room bump you should be fine at 80hz, however your subwoofer isn't the most capable one ever so if it were me I'd play around with it, but lower it a little to maybe 60. I think 40 would be too low, but 120 is definitely too high. With a more capable subwoofer I think you'd be happier with 80, but given the sub, I think 60 may end up being more appropriate. Then again, you may not notice any difference at all.

That sounds like a good starting point, and yes I couldn't agree more, I'm very disappointed in that sub, honestly I expected more out of it!! Definitely my next future upgrade.
