I have searched the forums and found some good tips, but can I have crossover help for my particular set up please!? Fronts, center and sub help.
I'm getting totally confused with Hz,Khz,freq.range etc...

Yamaha RXv-650
Fronts: Wharfedale Diamond 9.5's: 3 way
freq range:30-24khz
frequency:35 hz
HF limit : 44khz
crossover freq:140hz:2.2khz

Center: Wharfedale Diamond 9CM: 3 way
freq range :70-24khz
frequency : 75hz
HF limit : 44khz
crossover freq:1.0khz,6khz

Sub : Yamaha yst-sw215 : freq response: 28hz-200hz

I have old two Diamond 4's as surrounds and a pair of Philips "I don't know what's" as surround backs (all to be replaced) :p
The receiver's crossover starts from 40-200hz.

Also, there is a LFE Level for speakers and headphones which can be from -20db-0db.Where should that be set?

Any suggestions to get me on my way would be appreciated! Pretty much a newbie, so keep it simple guys!! ;)
I don't pretend to understand any of this stuff...but I'm ready to learn! :D

Thanks for your help...in advance!
Debs :)

Thanks Zumbo!
I had it at 60.
Where would I set the High Cut level on the sub too?
Thanks :)

All the way up. It will only be sent 80hz & under anyway. So, set it to 200. I run my system at 60. But your center looks as though it might have a tough time with that.

Clint,

that's as good an explanation as I've seen on the issue except for this one sentence:

When you set a loudspeaker to LARGE, you are in effect telling the bass management to bypass that speaker and send it the full range of that channel’s information.

we're not actually bypassing the speaker, but the bass management for that speaker ?

Thank you and One more thing!

OK! I read loads of the articles and stopped when I started getting info overload!
When my baby wakes up I'll do some tweaking!!

One more question/problem.
When watching a DVD,if I fast forward or skip to another chapter etc,my front speakers make a bang/thud sound.I know this can't be good. What should I do and what is it!?
Thanks again!
