Critique my system (apple tv to tv to peachtree to goldenear)

Hi all, just starting to think about putting together a real system for the first time and want to make sure I'm on the right track. Big fan of simplicity so I'm trying to avoid complication unless it's worth it and to that end, I'm planning to pull essentially all content through the optical out on my TV with inputs coming over HDMI from an Apple TV 4K and a PC for gaming. The optical out from the TV will run to either a Peachtree nova150 or nova300 which will then power a pair of GoldenEar Triton One.R speakers. Content played will be music, tv, movies and video games.

1. Have I missed any steps above or otherwise done anything dumb?
2. Will I notice the difference between the nova150 and the 300 with these speakers? I've heard they're very easy to drive and I've got a two bedroom apartment and only need to hit the couch directly in front of the speakers (and given the neighbors I'm not planning to push these to extreme levels of volume).
3. I'm trying to take the complication out of source inputs by running essentially everything through the TV so nothing really happens or needs to change further down the chain other than playing the input. Ideally I'd just leave everything but the TV on 24/7 and change content directly on the TV whenever I'm using it. Is this going to be a problem or less than ideal quality-wise?

What you're trying to do is what I'm trying to do exactly except I have the Triton 5's. However, I've been questioning Peachtree's reliability and Crutchfield lists them as discontinued if you follow the direct link so that has me concerned...maybe they were getting too many complaints.

1. You haven't missed anything.
2. Any GE speaker is pretty damn efficient so the 150/300 are plenty and if you don't plan on playing them ear damaging loud I would get the 150. You'll be hard pressed to find a receiver that does 300Wx2@8 ohms like the Peachtree 300 so like I said the 150 should be plenty. As far as placement the wider the better according to Sandy and I can attest. I have mine 9ft apart (equal distance from couch) and the center imaging is outstanding with proper toe-in. I test them 4ft apart with no toe-in and it wasn't enjoyable so space them as far as possible.
3. You have it correct as far as setup. Optical cable is great for PCM/2-ch audio just make sure you set your TV audio output to PCM and for good measure change the Apple TV audio to stereo as well. Not a deal breaker if it's set to "auto" though.

Like I said, my concern is the Peachtree reliability and if the Apple TV remote can control the Peachtree volume without any delays/problems because the NAD M10 had huge issues.

Awesome, thank you! And to your point on the amp, is there anything better that's roughly the same price and still has optical?

I've been browsing integrated amps for months now and I always find myself back at the Cambridge CXA81. I don't think I've seen a negative review on it and it has solid DAC, dual optical, and sub out as well. The looks are questionable but it seems like the next one on my list. Or maybe he PS Audio Sprout100.
