Crest Amps

Hey, I am just about ready to buy a nice Crest amp (the V650, 850 watts @ 4? bridged mono, 200 watts @ 8? stereo) and I need your guy's insight on the brand and amp. Is it a solid brand? What would you pay for it assuming it is in good but used condition?

I use Crest (as well as Crown and other) power amps in my PA and bass guitar rigs. They've been on the road, fell off of trucks, and over/under volted more times than I'd like to think about, and still chug along quite well. They'll be overbuilt and should do wonders for whatever application you're looking to use them for.
I don't know that particular model, so I can't comment on price.

My favorite power amp brand though, is QSC. I suggest taking a look into them as well, if possible.

I agree,ive ran a bunch of different pro amps in home audio applications & aside from the Crown reference line QSC is my favorite pro amp,looks better than most other pro amps when used in home audio too

Look into their 2 channel CX line of amp's,the cost of QSC should be in the same ball park as crest gear.

Are you buying this Crest amp used? $220 for a used 200 watt pro amp is not really that great of a deal when you take into consideration that the Guitar Center along with most other big pro audio outlets will discount the s#!t out of new amps & you could pick up a new crown or qsc 200 watt amp for about $250.

It is used, and shipping is a big part of the price (it is coming from Canada). If it doesn't seem worth the price after the fact (I think it is a good price), I can sell it locally and make back a lot of the profit. Hopefully it works though. I am using this as a subwoofer amplifier.
