Creative T40 vs Logitech Z523 vs SP-HF1800A or even others? Please help me choose!

hey everyone,

I am about to replace a really cheap 2.1 system that I was using for my laptop for more than 2 year. I have recently bought a projector for my small room and I would like to have nice set of speakers with it that will play me some movies, series and occasionally some music.
I would not like to spend too much money on it though as I only rent the room and will plan to move in the near future, so I was thinking around £40-80 for it.

(I was thinking about 5.1s as well but since the source is just one 3.5mm from the laptop I heard I can only have stereo from it. Tell me if I'm wrong!)

So I was thinking about 2.1 and 2.0 systems as I heard that in some cases 2.0s can be better even without subwoofers.

So here are my choices:

For mostly music SOLO6c (and near field sound) would be my choice, but for mostly HT duties http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microlab-M910/dp/B00C244DP0/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1379004680&sr=8-4&keywords=M-910 might be better choice
I generally wont trust any speaker system with full-range driver (at least not in this price range). Two way system are typically much better choice

Unfortunately at this price point you can't have both

Yeah I think it would be more for home theater (hope thats what you meant by "HT" ).
The Microlab you posted looks decent although I havent seen any reviews on it yet. I suppose its more or less the same as the FC360 that I listed.

So you think I should rule out the 2.0s? Are those mostly for music?

So I'm a bit of a newb in terms of audio systems.

yea, HT is for home theather

I don't fully rule out 2.0, but I do expect these 6.5" woofers to provide decent bass response and a decent linearity overall, but 2.1 will probably have the edge in amount of bass...
I also like about M-910 that includes digital hookups - this maybe a big advantage

Care to elaborate how the digital outputs of this M-910 could be used to be an advantage?
Would I need some other gadget to use it with my laptop? Or what does this mean exactly?

You laptop might have digital audio out ports. If it does it might help to run audio digitally to speakers.
