Creating a new system, could use some Help?

Hello there, so as the title says I'm making a new A/V system.

I have a pair of Paradigm Monitor 9's that my girlfriend of last summer managed to blow on me when I was gone. So, in the absence of a local authorized Paradigm dealer I decided to go and buy some new speakers. Anywho, was doing some E-bay shopping and purchased a pair of Paradigm Studio 100 v4's, along with the CC-690 centre. I also got a Pioneer Elite DV-F07 for my CD's and DVD's.

Now I was using a Yamaha HTR-5850 to power the Monitor 9's, and what I'm worried about right now is will it be enough to power the Studio's? Another question I have is that since I lack surrounds and rears how do you suppose I should configure the system? I will mostly use the system for music, so I'm not particularly concerned with having a complete 5.1 or 7.1 surround system as of yet.

Some other questions:
What should I set speakers to? Large or small? and what about the crossovers?
Unfortunately the room is cramped, and I have the TV set in a corner of the room. Not too mention hardwood floors. I need to get some pictures up so you guys can get a better understanding... Was just hoping for some make-the-best-of-it ideas.
I realize getting an amp would be a good idea, any suggestions? Budget is a concern of mine.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have any experience with the Studios but I've seen people say that will need sufficient amplification, so the receiver may not cut it.

The other questions:
- If you have a subwoofer, you want all speakers set to Small and the xover should be 80 Hz or lower.
- If you do not have a subwoofer, you will have no choice but to set the mains to Large. If that is the case, still set the Center to Small - bass below the xover will be sent to the mains.
- You can have any combination of speakers, you simply indicate in the receiver's setup menus which ones are present by setting them to On/Yes (whatever terminology your receiver uses).

The Studio 100's have three 7 inch bass drivers built in it, and the CC-690 has two 7 inch bass drivers as well. Not sure if this affects anything regarding the Large/Small settings. Thanks for those answers though, I can't wait until the weekend to set it all up.

For music, run the mains large if you're not going to run the sub in music mode. Whenever you ARE going to run the sub, set them to small.

The Studio 100's are a nice speaker. IMO, they match up best with either NAD or Pioneer and will enjoy some extra power. I'm not personally a fan of the Paradigm/Yamaha combo. Some things just work together better than others.

The NAD or Pioneer will give you a much less veiled high end and much gutsier, punchier bottom end.

Thanks for the suggestions. I bought the Yamaha about 2 years ago now when I knew even less about the audio world then I do now. Even still, I can't say that I regret the purchase. I don't have a dedicated sub for my system yet, so I suppose I'll run the two fronts on Large, and the centre on Small. As for the NAD/Pioneer, I'll have to look into it. Just spent so much money recently that I'm not exactly looking forward to spending more, hah.

thanks guys

I like the Paradigm monitor 9 though if it up to me I’d have two sets so I can use at least three matching Paradigm monitor 9 for the fronts. Still if you’re worried or concerned about crossover point’s settings and loudspeaker management protection then maybe you should add the (Behringer DCX2496) for all your crossover needs. I use just one at present to give me peace of mind, but you’re going to have to use separate matching amplifiers just like its done in the cinema.
