B.B. King or Stevie Ray Vaughn is what I open things up with.

I haven't updated my blues to CD yet, but I'd be more likely to consider genuine blues artists like Howlin' Wolf or Albert King.

SVR, KWS, Clapton, Ian Moore, BB King, and also listen occasionally to Walter Trout and the Radicals. I like some of the older classics as well, just don't own any yet.

Got to go with SRV, KWS, and some Zepp. songs. I've also heard some Joe Bonamassa and he is very impressive. Love to crank the Blues. If you have XM check out their Saturday night show called "Stoned Blues" it kicks butt.

A lot of good Blues

There's a lot of good blues music out there that is just dying to be cranked :D ...

Besides Stevie Ray, Clapton, BB and Robert Cray, I also like to listen to Albert King, Buddy Guy, Etta James, Taj Mahal, Joe Turner and Jonny Lang to name a few

I'd have to say Buddy Guy: In particular, Stone Crazy or any of his collaborations with Junior Wells.

Showdown, with Cray, Collins and Copeland is another burner.

I voted for Eric, not only because I've been a fan for over 30 years, but I find myself using his "One More Car One More Rider" in DTS as my standard test DVD. God that DVD sounds gooood!

Two classic blues recordings for both sound and performance are Muddy Waters "Hard Again" and Buddy Guy "Sweet Tea."

Muddy's was recorded in '77 with all kinds of great room tone with a great sounding kik drum, even some of the close mic'd stuff sounds right.

Buddy's was recorded a couple of years ago, and an engineer friend of mine heard that the mics were feeding back into the guitar amps with all kinds of bleed from the drums - it sounds amazing. Heavy and Evil. Listen to the shift from first track to the 2nd track - huge!

Oh yeah - sounds great Loud!

Man, I haven't listened to my copy of Muddy's "Hard Again" in years - I'm going to put it on the 'table tonight.

A recent CD you all might want to check out is something called "Exile on Blues Street". It's songs taken from the Rolling Stones "Exile on Main Street" album, but done by assorted blues artists. Very interesting versions, and great sound as well. I think there is also a similar CD from the same series that is songs from Bob Dylan's "Blonde on Blonde" (Called something like Blues on Blonde, or Blonde on Blues, etc.) Bob Dylan might not be as obvious a source of blues songs as the Stones ("Leopard-Skin Pillbox Hat" notwithstanding), but it's all a matter of interpretation!

And for those of us without XM, check out www.live365.com - There's a free version and a pay version (I use the free version, though it has fewer stations and some ads). I use it mostly as background music while I'm working on my pc. Sign up and check out a station called ElectricBlues Radio 56. Lots of sizzlin' electric blues guitar.

Gary Moore definately kicks a$$! Especially his older stuff (my favorite is Run For Cover).
