Cost effective upgrade to the CX3400?

Newbie here :)

I wonder if this is the right forum for this question?

Anyways, I'm using the Behringer CX3400 between my speakers and my subs. Then a DSP1124p on the subs.

I was wondering if there was a cost-effective to upgrade the CX3400. I swear since I added the CX3400, music has lost a touch of magic, but I need to separate the highs and lows.

I've looked into Rod Elliott's active crossovers. Do you guys think it'll be too difficult for a newbie?

Any other suggestions?

MiniDSP + 2way PEQ 21 plug-in (or 2 way Advanced 21) = $135

Hmm, very interesting indeed. It's so powerful! Seems like I can get rid of the DSP1124P as well.

Has anyone compared it to the CX3400 and etc type of crossovers? I'd be interested in your subjective opinions of the sound quality:)
