Cooling Receivers standing vertically (UI on top)

I am modernizing an old stereo console and mounting a modern AXR100 Cambridge Audio receiver face up (control panel up). I plan to take the housing off the receiver and leave the back of the console open. The receiver has an exhaust fan, but it would be pointing down into open air under the stereo console. Since heat rises, I'm thinking the receiver may need some cool air pointing into the electronics. Any advice so I don't ruin my receiver? Thank you

You could get one of those "top" fans that sit on top of the unit, stack it against the AVR and it will then blow out the side instead of top. I would leave the cover on. Dust will quickly accumulate on the electronics.

You could also try a DIY fan and have it blow sideways across the unit. Not sure if it has side vents or not.

What I like about my QSC DCA 1222 amps, apart from their performance, is that the electronic boards are installed upside down so they are protected from dust:
