Cooling receiver with laptop cooler

I was wondering if I can use a laptop cooler that is USB powered for my denon 3311 which has a front USB port. Would it work and should I use it for that?

Theoretically - I don't see why not, however few issue with this idea:
a) Most laptop coolers are usb powered so you'd need additional AC to usb power adapter and most likely usb m/f extension cord.
b) Since your denon is much heavier than typical laptop (5-6lbs) I can easily see the picture of Denon crushing innocent laptop cooler
c) why does it cooling at all, unless it in enclosed and tight space...

Is the receiver in a cabinet or is it out in the open? If it's in a cabinet, unless you get the hot air out of the cabinet the Laptop cooler will do no good and if it's out in the open why bother with the cooler.

Active cooling has its limitations, and producing a draw on that USB might create as many problems as you solve. As others have said, Better bets would be moving the unit to a better ventilated area of your cabinet, ensuring the area above and around it are clear, and ensuring that all that hot air being generated has somewhere to go.

Improving ventilation is a great way to improve the life of ALL of your components, definitely be on the lookout for furniture that will allow them all to breathe.
