Cooling for the system?

Hi all,

I am currently building a whole house audio system in an adjoining cabinet to the one for my HT. I was wondering how I should maintain the temperature of these cabinets. I need a quiet solution because these are in my listening area. The cabinets are backed up against an outside wall that leads to a crawlspace. I was wondering if there were any cooling systems to pipe the air outside, that would be efficient enough as to not undermine my heating and cooling in the house.

Thanks for any advice,

Mark

You just need to circulate the air to pass through your cabinet enclosure. Will an exhaust fan be a problem?

Dude,

Did you pay for it yet?

I have two, 1 RU high fan units. Each unit has three 24 VDC fans that move about 300 CFM. $40 each plus shipping.

You'll have to get your own power supply though, about 1 amp per fan unit.

Yeah, I talked to the owner of the company yesterday morning, and ordered it from him. He was cool though, and went out of his way to look at my system and help me decide.

Thanks though.

Just a followup to let everyone know that this active thermal system was fairly easy to install. And since it's been in, it has been doing a great job keeping everything nice and cool. The fans turn on and off as needed automatically, and they are super quiet. Made a huge difference in the temp of my computer and receiver. Anyone looking for temp control should look at these. I have the System 2 + 2 that lets you mount the fans individually where ever you want to.
