You said the trim on the remote, see if there's a trim on the chopper. That might do it.

I looked on the helicopter and I can't find any adjustments at all. I was searching online and people were talking about gyro adjustments, but I don't see any adjustments. The only thing that can be changed is the levels on the remote. I think the tail rotor isn't spinning fast enough to compensate for the main rotor. But the lower rotor is supposed to be doing that anyway, that's why I got a dual rotor helicopter since this is my first one. There's a hobby shop around here but the guy seems like he wouldn't wanna help me out much. I might go there today. Thanks for the reply.

Learning to fly RC planes and helicopters, especially helicopters have a pretty steep learning curve that can be costly. I would seriously suggest looking into a program called RealFlight G3.5 . It will teach you how every adjustment on the vehicle and your controller will affect you vehicles’ movement/performance and will expose you to some of the physics involved.

More information can be found here:

Also there are number of quality RC forums that have members willing to share there knowledge.

i just got these for Christmas, one from my wife and the other from my sister. Anyone know how to fly them? I haven't really tried the plane yet but the helicopter I have. When I try to lift it, it spins around a lot. I tried to adjust the trim and whatever else that stuff is called on the remote but nothing worked. Any ideas? I'm new to this. Thanks!!

The helo link suggests it has a tail rotor. Does that spin? Is it adjustable pitch wise? Maybe that is what causes it to spin, not turning or wrong pitch on it. Not sure if that pitch is by remote or a manual adjustment.

ps.
Now I am reading it has two counter-rotating blades. I guess the ones below the main blades is supposed to turn in the other direction. Does it? That is what you may have to adjust the trim on. Perhaps that tail rotor is for looks only, not function?

I haven't tried those types of R/C choppers. I do have 2 gas powered R/C choppers that I crash regularly. I buy a dozen sets of rotor blades go to the flying field and break all dozen pair. I am getting better as the last pair lasted 5 minutes. I've been flying R/C planes for >20 years and I still crash them occasionally.:D

The tail rotor does spin. But it seems like it only spins sometimes, not all the time. It doesn't have an independent control for the tail rotor either. I took it to the local hobby shop here and they think the motor is burned out. The bottom rotor spins the opposite direction, but it looks like it's not spinning as fast as the top, therefore it doesn't stabilize it and it spins around. That's probably due to the motor being burned out. It does smelled burned, but I work in aviation electronics so I've smelled some very burned electronics and it doesn't smell that bad to me. I'm gonna send it back and see what happens with another one. Hopefully I don't have any problems doing so. I flew the plane a few times, crash landing everytime. But I did fly it and turn a few times. It's hard to turn without any aileron control. I think that's the one to turn it in the back. When I push left to turn left, the right one speeds up and the left one slows down, which is fine, but then it loses power overall and starts to descend. By the time I can try to recover, it's going down. I've been trying a flight simulator a bit, but the plane I use has all the controls of a real gas r/c plane. I have a gas one, but it's old from my father-in-law and it hasn't flown in probably 20 years. Thanks for all the help.
