Contacting Paradigm for older speakers

Anyone think I would be able to call Paradigm directly to see if they have any of the studio V3 line left for sale? I wouldcall my dealer but I am thinking they will still try to charge me full price, whereas if I call directly and they have some left I may be able to get a discount. Am I just dreaming on this one?

I don't think Paradigm will deal with you directly but the only way to find out is to give them a call I guess.

I'm betting if you have a good dealer, once the new models come in they should give you a discount...

I agree...The dealer in my area has offered me some pretty good deals on equipment that was unsold from the previous year.

Yea my dealer is really small though. When I got my studio 20's in rosenut, they had to order them and it took them like 3 weeks to get them. They only stock what they have on display to audition plus maybe a few of the black speakers. I guess I can try to find a bigger dealer.

My dealer offered me a good deal on studio 60 v3 floor samples... $1325 before Christmas, but I went for the v4 once I auditioned them. I didn't ask about brand spankin new prices.

I just want a set of rosenut studio 40s (or 60's if I can't find 40s) to match my 20s. I also want another studio 20 as my center.

I highly doubt they will sell you old models. That is what eBay and Audiogon are for, and since the new models are just coming out, you should have no problem finding the old ones. Many stores likely still have the old ones as well, and they should be on clearance if they do.

I called an left a message with a dealer in Raleigh. If anyone else has a dealer near them and has a number, post it and i will give them a holler.

The dealer in Raleigh called me back this morning. Guy was awesome. Said they had 1 Pair of studio 40's in rosenut that were a floor speaker and said they were being aggressive with the pricing since the V4 was out. I am going by there Monday or Tuesday to look and hopefully buy them (if the price is right)

Ok, so they guy wanted $1000 for the Studio 40's after they were a floor display model. I thought he would come off them a little more than $200 since they are 1: Used 2: Discontinued.

No luck from 6 Ave, Due to the fact that Paradigm doesn't allow them to ship out of the state.

I would ask for at least a 25% break. See if you can get $300 off and make sure no one has damaged the tweeters :)

He's smoking something.... For that price, might as well just cough up the money for new ones. Maybe that is what he wants? I'd offer less too. Not to mention you can get used 60s for that.

Yea I had $700 cash in my pocket, and just wanted the speakers (no stands) Had he countered with 850 to meet me in the middle I probably would have taken it. I will just keep my eye on Ebay and Audiogon.
