I am considering this model plasma 58pz700. I can get a great deal at best buy from it plus 3 years financing since i plan to buy other products as well.
They told me the tv has been out about six months so it's a newer model, but I wanted to ask around here before I do this.

I read online reviews and it states it's a great TV in HDTV but gets a bit disorted when not watching it in HDTV. They sales person told me I do not need to worry about refresh rate since it is a plasma and i won't see the pixels make up the objects when watching a action film or sporting event.

I will be about 18 feet from where the tv will be wall mounted

Can someone help me out here

thanks

The 700U is not the most current, just an fyi. The panel does a good job with SD, it would be limited to its source output. Refresh rates are not an issue with plasmas as you were told. Plasma is going to provide the smoothest response, compared with crts.

thanks

I am aware it's not the newest on the market, but can you define what you mean by limited source output? i want to make sure i am not going to have bad imaged when watching standard definination in comparison to HDTV. Some of the reviews I read seaid standard defination was not great.

If your sat/cab feed is poor with sd, there is only so much you can do to improve it. I have zero issues with sd out of comcast cable, is it as good as hd, no, but for what it is mines fine. There are not any tv types that are gonna look better than a plasma at 58", imo.
