I plugged a Blu Ray player into my Yamaha RX-V567 receiver since my Hitachi 57T500 doesn't have a HDMI but the picture had a Pink fog over the whole screen and couldn't get any volume to work. Will Blu Ray work with my HDTV?

Hi. There are two separate issues - one is the video, the other is a lack of audio.

You say that you connected the blu-ray player directly to the Yamaha receiver via HDMI - correct?

How do you have your TV connected?

Are you trying to get audio from speakers connected to the Yamaha, or from the TV?

Connected to the Yamaha by HDMI #3 since I have 2 DVR units connected to 1,2 inputs. The TV is connected to the Yamaha buy way of a converter plug DVI to HDMI and audio Optical cable to Yamaha. Yes I'm trying to get audio from receiver... It works fine with the 2 DVR's and the CD player.

I plugged it into my 40" Samsung in my Bedroom and it seems to work fine. I hooked it to the HDMI on the TV I will try it on the Denon Receiver after I finish my movie.

The quickest way to troubleshoot it is to plug the blu-ray into HDMI 1 or 2 because you know those work.

For HDMI 3, make sure that HDMI is assigned as the audio input source for that input. It should be by default, but you or someone else may have assigned another input (e.g. an optical input) as the audio source for HDMI 3 in the past.

Looks like your correct, the Blu Ray player has to hook to the HDMI 1. RX-V568 bluray.jpg
