Guys, I am setting up a new system.

Onkyo NR807 (with Ethernet)
PS3
Samsung TV LNT4061F
Dish Network HD Sat Box

Whats the best way to hook all this up?
I have no clue how to do this, so I need a "for dummies" answer

HSU Reseach VTF-3 MK3 Subwoofer
Vienna Acoustic Waltz speakers

Thanks!!

I should have been more specific....What cables do I need to connect all this?

HDMI, HDMI for all of those devices to the receiver, then HDMI to the display. Speaker wire and a sub cable to the sub.

Just to clarify....no use of optical at all?

How many HDMI's will I need?

on a related note, i have a ton of cables (monster) in a box. I know one is a sub cable. Anyone know how to tell which is the sub? Does Monster color code them?

The basic connections would be as follows:
3 HDMI cables
Speaker wire
Coaxial 75 ohm RCA type cable for subwoofer
The PS3 and the Dish box connect to the Onkyo using HDMI. The third HDMI connects the Onkyo to the Samsung TV.

All the cables can be purchased at www.monoprice.com
For HDMI runs shorter than 25 feet I like the High Speed HDMI 1.3a Category 2 Certified Cable 28AWG. The more expensive 24 gauge HDMI cable is not very flexible and should only be used when very long runs are required.

For the subwoofer, monoprice product id 3976 should work fine. Shorter cables are available if needed.

For speaker wire, monoprice product id 2820 should work fine.

This covers the BASIC required cables. Additional cables will be needed for the ethernet connections to the Onkyo and the PS3.

Hope this helps,

You'll need 3 HDMI for your current gear.

Sub cable is just standard 75 ohm RCA. It doesn't matter what color the cable is.

Thanks!
