Connecting VHS VCR to ONKYO Receiver

Onkyo receive TX-SR608 has composite video output. While viewing DVR recorded show is it possible to record that on a VHS VCR (dont laugh but that is the only way I have of making a permanent recording to date)? When I choose CBL/SAT input, I receive no signal to record on the VCR/DVR composite video output on the receiver. Any suggestions? Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

After skimming the owner's manual for the 608 and looking at the video flow, I believe that you'll only be able to record (a) analog audio inputs and (b) composite video inputs to a VCR connected to the analog audio outputs and composite video output.

What connections are you using for the CBL/SAT input?

The VCR connections include an output for recording. Look at the back of the receiver- it's on Pg 18.
