Help. My older Pioneer ('98) a/v receiver does not have some of the connections shown for my newer dvd/vcr player and brand new toshiba hdtv ready set. I have all the instructions for setting up the dvd/vcr and satellite receiver to the tv...but if I go directly to the tv, how can I integrate the a/v receiver.

The tv set says t use the a/v receiver as the center speaker and shows a connection to center speaker, but my a/v doesn't have such a thing. Also the a/v receiver does not have componenthook-ups, which they say are better for the dvd/vcr palyer. any suggestions would be greatly appreciate. thank you

For the best results only connect the audio from the dvd, vcr, satellite, or anything else for that matter to the back of your receiver. For the best video quality it is best to connect the video directly to the TV. There are exceptions, most receivers can be used for video switching. So if your TV does not have enough video inputs this may be used as an alternative. I hope this helps!

Good Luck!

This is what I would do (I have an old reciever also) Take the video output from the DVD to the TV and the Audio from the DVD to the reciever.
