I just ordered a Logitech Z-5500 speaker system and I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS. My question to you is:
Should I use the 24-bit/192KHz DAC in my sound card and go analog into the logitech's control unit,
Or
Should I go digital out of my sound card and use the 24-bit/96KHz DAC in the logitechs?
My understanding is that an analog connection is more susceptible to signal degradation and/or RFI, but I would be using a better DAC, whereas a digital connection would have almost no signal loss, but the DAC in the logitechs isn't as good as the one in my sound card.
thanks, and happy Thanksgiving.
