Hi Ryan,
I am not a pro either but, there are a few ways that I have seen to connect a subwoofer. I assume that you have a powered subwoofer.
Typically, there is a "RCA" female connector labelled "subwoofer" on the backside of the amplifier that is an unpowered output. You probably have an "RCA" input on the back of the subwoofer. Just connect the 2 with a cable and enjoy your sub. (Make sure that you consult your manual for turning on output to your subwoofer)
This is the easiest and safest way to connect the subwoofer.

Hey Ryan,

I'm having the same issue. I was unable to find a user manual on the Sony site; however, there are a few that are close. Most of the newer receivers have an output for a sub, ours does not...although I don't know what the "adaptor" jacks are used for. Good luck, I'll let you know if I find something that works.

If youse don't have a "sub out" or "LFE out" on the back...

...then just make sure that whatever sub you chose has speaker level inputs on it. that's about the only way you can add a sub.
