Connecting a Soundbar

I'm new at Soundbars. When connecting a Soundbar to an HDTV, do I connect the speakers Audio Right and Left "IN" to the TV's Audio's "Out" Left and Right. I will be using the RCA Jacks. After that, I just turn on the TV and not having to switch anything on the TV?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Phil

Should work that way. In my setup I don't have to change anything and just turn the TV sound down and the Soundbar up. My setup allows me to run both at any volume I choose.

I would consider connecting via an optical cable. Sound may not be any different, but if your sound bar can output Dolby digital, you could get some extra effects.

You may also want to go in to your TV's settings menu under audio and change the output to external speakers or optical if you use that. You probably should not have both the TV speakers and the sound bar at the same time. If the timing of the audio is different, it will sound like you have an echo.
