Connecting a power amp to a computer

Connected to my computer is an AudioEngine D1 DAC, it has RCA outputs.
I'm thinking of connecting a power amp to the D1, then bookshelf speakers to the amp.
The power amp has RCA inputs. (Niles SI-2100)

I'm trying to go beyond the 20 watts my computer speakers provide (Bowers & Wilkins MM-1).

It should work. Powered speaker's amp is not really different than an external amp except that it is self contained in the speaker.

What's the question? What speakers? Why not simply better active speakers?

I had my 2005 Dell pc hooked up to an amp, but I didn't need a DAC. The one in my soundcard was more than enough. Then I bought a new pc over Thanksgiving holiday and hooked it up to two different amps and now a Denon AVR. All I have is a Y cord hooked from the speaker jack on the back of the pc to the RCA inputs on the receiver. Works great.

I've noticed a low rumble when the Audioengine D1 (volume at lowest setting) and Niles SI-2100 amp are on and I move the mouse! Have tried re-routing cables, no change.
