hi,i have a sizeable collection of live gigs some on cd but most on minidisc because of the nature of these recordings i have ebayed the onkyo to improve the sound. All the ports on the nad are in use bar the phono and tape 1 monitor.Do i connect it md deck>equalizer>amp or is there a way to patch it so that it can be used to control the whole system if needed, can i route it via the pre-amp in/out removable links?any help please.

...I'm familiar with, duplicate the ins/outs of the tape monitor circuit on the equalizer for just this reason. Simply put the EQ into your head units(reciever/integrated/pre) tape mon and whatever you currently have plugged into it into the tape mon on the EQ.

Generally speaking, between the pre-out/pwr in is also OK, but can be problematic in some situatuions. Another possibility is putting the EQ between your source and it's normal input. Most EQs should be compatible with the impedance/input voltage specs...having all the manuals would help in this respect.

jimHJJ(...hope that helps a bit...)

P.S. Actually, dumb@$$ that I am, I just re-read your post. Since you aren't using the Tape 1 monitor, plug the EQ in there...it's actually the preferred arrangement. When you want to use the EQ hit the button, when you don't simply turn the monitor function off...This will have an effect on all sources, so use caution if you use the EQ and your NADs tone controls as it might result in too much bass.
