connecting a epson projector to a dvd player

Hi everyone I am new here and have a question about projectors. A buddy of mine has a projector and wants to play dvd's thru it the problem is we don't know what we are doing. The projector is about 50 feet away from the dvd player. How do we hook this up and we have speakers throughout the building that we want the sound to go thru. Thanks jdmlbm

Model numbers are necessary please. Typically, component video from dvd to projector and optical from dvd to amp for sound. Newer components would use hdmi from dvd to amp to projector. Cheers.

The projector is a Epson Powerlite S3. The dvd player is a jenson DVD/VCR Player not sure of model#. jdmlbm

That model has no hdmi, so component for video and optical for audio.
