I just got my outlaw 990 pre pro with 7125 amp. For the time being I am only hooking up 5.1 speaker setup instead of 7.1. Do I hook up the cables to the left sur and right sur, or do I hook them up to the left sur back and right sur back. I don't know which channels would be a better choice as I am eliminating two channels for the time being.

The back channels will leave you with missing information. Use the Sur R & L.

Found Out

I found out through a lot of trial and error that JR is right on with speaker outputs. I connected my Klipsch bookshelvesTo the surround L&R and low and behold, I have music. All I could get out of the system with the connections made to the back channels was EXTREMELY faint reproduction. I am now finding that despite running speaker levels on through the AVP-7 the rear Klipsch speakers are quite a bit louder than my Infinity Alphas in the front! I have no clue as to what to try next to balance the speakers out. Whenever I run through the test tones and change the volume settings to balance everything I still end up with the right rear speaker playing louder than all the other speakers. Further, all of the speaker settings seem to revert to the same levels or rematching the levels. Any help please?

The Klipsch speakers are MUCH more sensitive than the Infinitys, so that alone could account for the difference.

Sorry, I am not familiar with the AVP-7, but I'm sure there is a "save" or "enter" that you may be missing to save the settings - I had something similar occur with a customer's B&K 307.
