Conncting speaker wires to McIntosh 2100

I have a pair of Monster Cable M2.2s Speaker Cables (before you start... they were freebies) I would like to hook these up between my FR/FL speakers and the McIntosh 2100 powering them.

A lot of the vintage gear uses the small speaker connection screws. Currently there is no way to connect the Monster Cables directly to the amp.

I have seen solutions like these connectors.

I have also seen fancy stuff like this.

Can anyone share their experience with similar adaptors or point me towards some options I might have missed?

I realize I can make somehting fom Radio Shack using binding posts and doing a bit of soldering. I would like recommendations for a solution that is as high-integrity as possible.

Sometimes a free gift is like receiving a baby St. Bernard.

It' s a cute lil' guy, the kids fall in live with it immediately and no doubt it's a well meaning gesture but, in the long run, is more of a curse than a blessing.

Any one of those gizmos should work but don't expect an epiphany in sound enhancement.

I guess I just wanted to see those big-a$$ cables hanging out of the back of my speakers. I don't expect their performance to be noticable.

The MC2100 was a gift also. It is just back from the Labs in Binghampton where it was rebuilt completely. That IS a blessing!

I don't care for St. Bernards either...

Well, what kind of hookup options does that McI amp gives you?
Can you attach one of those wire spades or that pin to the amp? Bare wires?

That Monster link shows one end terminated, other just bare wire. Is that terminated end not the right size for the Mc? Can you use the stripped end of the plain wires?
But, if either of you other spades or pin will work, get them and attach to monster. May have to cut off the terminated spades.

Either kind of connector will work but if it were me i wouldnt use the outpost unless it was my last resort because its pretty expensive for what it is.

Keep in mind that the mc2100 is a pretty old mac amp & the speaker terminals were never intended to be tightened with a 60ft lb torque wrench as most audiophile type speaker wire manufacturers reccomend, normal tightening is all the terminals will take before breaking.
