Confusion about Dolby Atmos speaker setup.

After looking at the different setups, in ceiling and Dolby Atmos speakers,I've come to the conclusion that I could do aDolby Atmos enabled speaker module. I can't set it on top ,because my Paradigm Milennia speakers are angled at the top.I contacted Paradigm and as of now their not planning any modules that would fit.So, I read that you could place Dolby enabled speaker modules within 3 feet of your main.Could you possibly put them on speaker stands? Would it be worth it or should I just go with a7.2 setup and forget about Atmos? Please I need feedback!!

The odd thing about Dolby Atmos is the rather rigid guidelines on discrete ceiling speakers but the loosey goosey placement guidelines on the Atmos-enabled speakers. The Atmos-enabled speaker almost seems to work on magic.

Please read up on them here:

Paradigm seems to care more about fidelity than gimmicks as evident by them NOT producing Atmos-enabled speakers. Before spending money on "Atmos-enabled" speakers, try just a regular pair of bookshelf speakers laying around to see if you like the effect they produce when you bounce them off the ceiling. IMO it's NEVER a good idea to sacrifice the main 5 or 7 speaker system to add height via bouncing sound around the room. Good luck and let us know what you come up with in your testing.
