Confused, too right!

I have been looking into making a multi room system in my home. I want to run audio from my PC to 4 rooms and possibly have visual (DVD) to 2 TFT monitors in other rooms.
Now I believe this can be done from the PC to a Hub using UTP CAT5 cable, but from the hub I want to go to wall mounted controlers (pref with IR function for a remote). I have seen these controlers (KNOX Products) which take a CAT5 connection and then speaker wire from them to the speaker (of course!) , but I am right that I can go from PC - Hub - Wall Control?
Do I need to amplify before the controlers? My budget is tight and this is my first attempt so any advise would be gratefully received.

Also how much are these wall controls?

Thanks

I want to make sure I got this down.

You want to take the audio and video out from your computer and send it to 4 rooms, you also want to have IR control in each room along with individual volume controls?

Is that right?

Thanks

Thanks for the Advice.

Sorry I wasnt very clear:

I am running audio to 4 rooms, and later I may add visual to 2 of them, but thats not for now really.
So I just want to go from the PC to whatever I need to split to 4 rooms with wall controlers.

Oh and i forgot to mention that ideally I would like to connect the system together with UTP cable for minimum wiring around the house......

If you want to do just audio for now a simple "Abus" audio distribution will work. Open House, Channel Vision have some, Wired Home is working on one, which is a 4 source/8 zone unit, with IR control in the keypads.
