I am like no other newby...confused hearing all the ratings and preferences and tech talk. When listening to all the HTIB models they sound great to me.

I need a system for my parents to enjoy. Mainly music but a good movie sound experience ride as well. I see Amazon has great sales on Kenwood and Yamaha. I hear Denon and Onkyo to be more preferred.

Any help appreciated

Over at AVS they have a dedicated forum for HTIB. That's probably the best place to learn more.

 I Need Help, Please Help.
I received this unit as a gift, plugged it in and I am only getting a "humming" noise that increases in pitch and volume. The only thing that will stop the noise is by turning the master switch off, or unplugging it. Very Frustrating. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?
Thank you,

I can understand that you are confused and wanting help with your set-up. Sniping in on other peoples threads, especially when you have already started a thread of your own dedicated to your issues, probably won't get you much help.

Edit: I thought this spammer was refering to the actual Genesis brand of speakers ( http://www.genesisloudspeakers.com/ ) and needed help with an actual product. Sorry!

It's broke. Either exchange it for a good one or send it in for repair. ...hope you've got the receipt and all the original packaging. If not, you're boned.

Funny, I can't seem to find any store that sells these. They only seem to be available on ebay and craigslist, and for around $100.
