Configuring XBOX 360 to surround sound through receiver.

I am unable to receive sound after attempting to hook up a fibre optic cable to my revceiver via my XBOX 360

I have a Pioneer VSX-816

I have plugged the cable in following the instructions via XBOX.COM and tried adjusting the sound on the setup in my XBOX 360 consol.

I am still not receiving any sound and i was wondering if there is a step im missing.

Any help??

I have tried the signal select function on my receiver and set it to digital but still no luck.

What type of setup do you have? Component or HDMI? Are you sure you have dolby digital selected on the console? Are you receiving audio with out the digital cable? Did you try another cable?
